Tea Health Benifit

Used for thousands of years, tea is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world. Many scientists have studied the health benefits of this plant and its reputation seems deserved: good for the heart, brain. tea would fight against many diseases Black or green, overview of the benefits of a small cup. 

It adorns the tea many health benefits. And the latest studies seem to confirm these claims.
A drug food?

No health without tea & nbsp ;! Why do scientists have they addressed the benefits of tea? Simply because it is a cocktail of very interesting compounds. This plant is rich in well-known substances for their protective properties polyphenols. These have an antioxidant action they can fight against excess formation of free radicals in the body, promoting substances premature aging of cells and the onset of disease. And the tea contains powerful antioxidants: catechins (especially green tea), theaflavins (especially black tea), flavonols ... They would be even more effective than vitamin C and E!
An anti-cancer weapon!

Scientists around the world have of course asked if tea antioxidant power could protect against one of the most important diseases: cancer. And the results weigh in favor of this drink. And several studies have highlighted the anti-tumor effects of tea polyphenols, both in vitro and in animals 1 . In humans, several studies have shown a protective effect against cancer (most often related to black tea apparently). Thus, this plant would reduce the risk of breast cancer 2 women. But men are not left out: tea may protect against prostate cancer 3 . Some work 4 also point out that tea consumption provides little defense against UV rays, helping the skin to fight against sun damage. But we must recognize that in terms of cancer prevention, tea remains controversial: several studies 5,6 have not achieved positive results, some even showing an increased risk associated with the consumption!
Good for the heart

In the prevention of cardiovascular disease, tea has been proven. Thus, it limits the formation of atherosclerotic plaques responsible for clogging of the arteries. The mechanism would be linked to this plant antioxidants that prevent the oxidation of bad cholesterol and decreasing the formation of dangerous plaques. But the tea polyphenols also have an antithrombotic effect (against the formation of clots that can block an artery). In general, drinking three cups of tea per day would reduce by 11% cardiac events. But be careful not to exceed the dose: excess tea may decrease the absorption of iron in the intestine: anemia station, especially in pregnant women 7  !

But the tea is not only good for the body: it is also for the head! Certainly it contains caffeine, better known under the name of caffeine, but two times less than a black child. Of course, this depends on the duration of the infusion. According to the scientific information center on tea, an infusion of 3 minutes extract of the plant 50% of the caffeine, against 80% for an infusion of 5 minutes. Moderate consumption of this substance therefore increases alertness, especially when one is tired. Moreover, the fact consume a hot drink like tea help to fight against stress. This allows in particular to fight against the constriction of blood vessels in the extremities, reducing such problems sweaty hands for anxiety!


Against the weight: no miracles ...

However, needless to believe that tea makes you lose weight. Of course if you do not add sugar, one cup will bring only two small calories and can help eliminate toxins through a high protein diet for which to drink a lot. Admittedly, some studies come restart slimming properties of this drink. Thus, a Japanese study has recently shown a greater loss of weight when diet was associated with tea consumption. But do not get carried away: it was work in obese diabetic mice rendered ...

So if you want to eliminate a few pounds, nothing prevents you from drinking tea, but rather bet on a suitable diet and some exercise!
